I began, as many of you did, looking over my mom’s shoulder as steaming hot brine was being ladled into jars. Sometimes I got to tighten the rings.
It wasn’t until many years later that I actually realized how much work was involved! But it’s a labour of love, and I believe important work these days to support our local farmers by showcasing their produce all year round.
It’s about teaching people where our food comes from, and the choices we make ultimately affect not only ourselves but our community at large.
It’s about food security, one jar at a time.
